Warkel Named CSC Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas—Jax State senior bowler Anna Warkel was named to the 2024-25 Academic All-America Women's At-Large Third-Team as selected by College Sports Communicators.

The senior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa was selected from a pool of eligible student-athletes that were named to the all-district team. To qualify, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 or higher, be at least a sophomore, and be a starter or key contributor to their team.

Warkel was named Second-Team All-America by the National Tenpin Coaches Association and earned Third-Team All-Conference USA honors, helping the Gamecocks win the Intercollegiate Team Championship.

During the 2024-25 season, Warkel posted a 212.1 individual season average and a 206.7 Baker average, helping the Gamecocks reach the NCAA National Collegiate Bowling Championship for the second time in as many years.

In addition to her success on the lanes, Warkel posted a 3.97 grade point average as a Sports Management major and served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Warkel is the 21st person in school history selected as an Academic All-American since 1977 and is the first from the bowling program.
