Mercy Jebet and
Nolan McGregor paired up to take home three of the four Conference USA Weekly Awards to open up the 2025 Cross Country season.
Jebet was named the Athlete of the Week and Freshman of the Week on the women's side while
Nolan McGregor earned the Freshman of the Week on the men's side.
Jebet took home the individual title in the season opening Foothills Invitational, crossing the finish line in 17:23.31. Her time not only earned her the gold on the podium, but also sets the mark for the best time in program history.
On the men's side, McGregor pushed for an eighth place individual finish, the second highest point scorer for the Gamecocks, helping Jax State to a team victory to open the season. McGregor finished just behind senior
Jack Lowe, finishing in a time of 15:08.61.
Jebet, McGregor and the Gamecocks are back in action on Sept. 12 at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala.
