JACKSONVILLE – The Jax State Softball team announced its schedule for the 2025 Fall season on Wednesday, including five contests in Jacksonville and the 18
th annual Tera Ross Memorial Tournament in Oxford.
Following a contest against Wallace State on Oct. 3, Jax State will host the Tera Ross Memorial Tournament at Choccolocco Park on Oct. 4 against two opponents to be announced at a later date. The tournament is named in the memory of former Jacksonville State pitcher Tera Ross, a three-time letterwinner that was tragically killed in an automobile accident just before her senior season.
As a junior in 2003, Ross led the team with a 1.17 earned run average, still the third-lowest in school history. She ranks in the top five in Jacksonville State's career record books in four categories: strikeouts, innings, wins and games started. Her No. 31 is prominently featured throughout the Gamecock program.
Following the Tera Ross Tournament, the Gamecocks are back in action on Oct. 12 at Jana McGinnis Field against Memphis. The Gamecocks played Memphis twice last spring, defeating the Tigers on both occasions.
Jax State wraps up its fall slate with a trio of in-state contests, taking on Northeast Alabama on Oct. 19, Snead State on Oct. 21 and Gadsden State on Oct. 23.
