Gamecocks Hit the Road This Week

MIAMI—Road wins in Conference USA have been few and far between during the 2025-26 season. Two teams in the league are winless away from home and seven have just one road win this year.

Jax State will look to become the fourth team in the league with multiple road wins when it takes on FIU Wednesday night at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center in Miami.

The Gamecocks have won their last two contests, including a 75-58 win over Middle Tennessee on Friday, marking the second consecutive game they have held an opponent to 60 points or less and under 40% from the field.

Friday's game marked the first time Jax State had outrebounded an opponent and had outscored it in the paint since the previous meeting with FIU on January 7th. Offensively, Jax State shot a season-best 60% from 3-point range, converting on nine of their 15 attempts. AC Bryant scored a game-high 22 points, going 6-of-7 from 3-point land. Emmondrek Erkins-Ford had 13 points and five rebounds off the bench.

FIU was victorious at New Mexico State on Saturday by the count of 81-78. Senior Corey Stephenson recorded his second road double-double of the season with 25 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Panthers held the Aggies to just 34.7% from the field.

Stephenson leads the team in scoring at 17.6 points per game.

This is the 13th meeting all-time between the Gamecocks and the Panthers with Jax State holding a 7-5 lead, but are 2-3 in Miami. Jax State won the previous meeting in Jacksonville on January 7th by the score of 71-64. Last time the teams met in Miami, Jax State was an 84-79 winner in double overtime.
