Gamecocks Earn Highest Athletics Fall GPA

JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State University student-athletes continue to succeed both on the fields and in the classroom, achieving a record-setting 3.418 cumulative grade point average for the 2025 fall term.

Coming off the athletic department's best overall academic year in 2024-25, Gamecock student-athletes improved to punch in the highest Fall GPA on record to begin 2025-26. The 3.418 combined GPA continues a rising trend that saw Jax State earn a 3.360 in Fall 2024, preceded by a 3.269 in 2023.

"This fall was one of the strongest academic performances we've ever had, and I'm so proud of our student-athletes for the way they continue to show up in the classroom," said Greg Seitz, Vice President for Athletics. "Their commitment to their studies — on top of the demands of competition and travel — really speaks to their character. I'm also grateful for our academic staff and coaches, who invest so much time and care into supporting our students. This success is truly a reflection of a team effort across our entire department."

The Gamecocks had 193 student-athletes post a 3.5 or better GPA, with 102 earning perfect 4.0 marks.
