JACKSONVILLE – Gamecocks' men's tennis improved to an impressive 5-0 on the season with a rivalry win over the Troy Trojans Saturday at the Jax State Tennis Courts.

The Trojans (7-4) won the doubles point, but in singles play the Gamecocks swept to earn their third home win of the season. In doubles, Aman Dahiya and Timo De Visser fell 6-3 on court one, while Marko Milosavljevic and David Krasner fell 6-2 on court three.

On court two, Zach Murphy and Lucius Soller were leading 5-2 over Troy, but the match went unfinished as Troy took the doubles point with the wins on court one and three.

In singles action, Charlie Penman got the winning rolling for Jax State with a 6-0, 6-3 straight-set victory over Troy's Ausias Martin Melo. Jax State won every singles match of the day in straight-sets.

Alin Fatu put Jax State up 2-1 thanks to a 6-4, 6-0 victory on court six. Krasner then won both his first and second sets against Yeray Andres Pastor by a score of 6-3.
