JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State men's tennis team continued its unbeaten streak to start the season with a 4-0 win over Alabama A&M on Wednesday.
The Gamecocks improved to 6-0 on the year, winning five of the 10 sets that were completed by the score of 6-0.
Jax State clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 win at Line 3 by
Alin Fatu and
Charlie Penman and a 6-3 win at the top line by
Zach Murphy and
Lucius Soller to put the Gamecocks up 1-0 in the match played to clinch.
In singles play, the Gamecocks got a 6-3, 6-0 win from
David Krasner at Line 2, followed by a 6-4, 6-0 win at Line 3 by
Aman Dahiya.
Timo De Visser clinched the match at Line 4 with a 6-4, 6-0 win.
Penman was a game away from a point at Line 1 singles with a 6-0, 5-3 lead in a match that was not finished.
Zach Murphy was also up a set and held a 4-2 lead in the second at Line 6.
Up next for the Gamecocks is a trip to Georgia Tech on Friday.
