Penman Chosen as Athlete of the Week

DALLAS—Jax State graduate student Charlie Penman was named the Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his efforts in his team's fifth-consecutive win of the season.
The native of Harrietsham, England was a 6-0, 6-3 winner in his No. 1 Singles match against Troy's Ausias Martin Melo to improve to 2-2 on the year in singles play and gave the Gamecocks a 4-1 victory over Troy on Saturday.
This is the second year in a row Penman has picked up a weekly honor from CUSA; he was athlete of the week on March 12th last season after going 2-0 against Tennessee State and Xavier.
The Gamecocks will host Alabama A&M at 1:30 this afternoon.
