Jacksonville, AL – Jax State returns to the Pete Mathews Coliseum aiming to secure a pivotal win against CUSA newcomer Delaware in the second matchup between the two teams. Jax State won the first meeting 67-64 which occured on January 2nd in Newark. The Thursday evening 6 p.m. game will air nationally on CBS Sports Network where the Gamecocks are looking to extinguish a four-game losing skid, while Delaware arrives dropping their previous two.

Over his previous two contests, CUSA leading scorer Mostapha El Moutaouakkil is averaging 32.5 points-per-game, that includes a career high 38 in the loss against the Sam Houston this past Saturday. Adding to Mostapha's efforts offensively, Alabama A&M transfer AC Bryant is the Gamecocks second leading scorer with 12.6 points-per-game, while Jaye Nash is providing 4.0 assists per game, leading the Gamecocks.

Jacksonville State is looking to capitalize on the Blue Hens' 4-8 road record this season. For the Blue Hens, much of the spotlight falls on Virginia transfer Christian Bliss, Delaware's leading scorer at 16.3 points per game and 1.7 steals, second in CUSA, making his presence known on both ends of the floor. Christian Bliss is closely followed by senior Justyn Fernandez, who contributes an efficient 16.1 points per game.

With postseason seeding still at stake, Thursday's matchup is one of the final opportunities to catch the Gamecocks in action at home before facing regular season champions, theLiberty Flames Saturday, at 5 p.m. Saturday's contest against the Flames will be nationally broadcast on ESPNU, and will be senior night, and feature a halftime performance from the Leeds Jump Rope Team.

Jax State then ends their regular season on the road at New Mexico State and UTEP before focusing their efforts on the CUSA Championship in Huntsville, Ala.
