JACKSONVILLE – The 11-2 Jacksonville State men's tennis team returns home to the Jax State Tennis Courts on Friday to take on in-state rival North Alabama. The match is set for a 1 p.m. first-serve.
The Gamecocks will play the Lions (8-6) in their first home match since defeating Alabama A&M on Feb. 18. Jax State went 5-2 in their seven straight road matches. Meanwhile, UNA is coming off a 6-1 win against Bellarmine on March 9.
Jax State's most recent match was at Chattanooga where the Gamecocks dominated 4-0. Jax State took the doubles point, then clinched three-straight singles matches to take the win.
Alin Fatu clinched match-point against the Mocs on court six by a score of 6-3, 6-4.
Jax State is 4-0 at home, 6-2 on the road, and 1-0 in neutral site matches this year.
In singles this season, Jax State is 46-15.
David Krasner paces the Gamecocks with a 10-1 record. Fatu is 7-0, while
Timo De Visser is 7-1.
Aman Dahiya has the next most victories as he sits with an 8-4 record.
Marko Milosavljevic is 4-1,
Zach Murphy is 3-1,
Lucius Soller is 2-0,
Matei Palcau is 1-2, and
Charlie Penman is 4-5, respectively.
In doubles, the Gamecocks have a 20-11 record. Soller and Murphy, Krasner and Milosavljevic, and Fatu and Penman are all tied with a team-best 4-2 record. Fatu and Krasner and Fatu and Palcau are 1-0 when paired, Soller and Palcau are 1-0, and Penman and Soller are also 1-0 together. Krasner and Soller are 1-1, while Krasner and De Visser are 1-0. Dahiya and De Visser are 2-4.
Following the match against UNA, Jax State faces Georgia State at home on Sunday at 12 p.m. Senior day festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Jax State Tennis Courts.
