JACKSONVILLE – Jax State men's tennis earned their seventh home win of the 2026 season with a 5-2 triumph over in-state rival North Alabama Friday afternoon. The Gamecocks improved to 12-2 on the season with the win.
The doubles pairing of
Aman Dahiya and
Lucius Soller got the day off right with a 6-4 win against Lachlan Brain and Samu Dominguez in flight No. 2.
Alin Fatu and
Charlie Penman paired up to clinch the doubles point thanks to a win in tiebreakers against Alex Despoja and Benjamin Meyers on court three. Fatu and Penman prevailed in a 7-6 (7-3) final.
On court one,
Timo De Visser and
David Krasner were tied 6-6 against Alberto Altur and Izan Orgiles. The match was abandoned as the Gamecocks took the doubles point with the wins on courts two and three.
In singles action, De Visser put the Gamecocks gave Jax State a second point with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Meyers on court five. Krasner then earned Jax State a third point with a 6-1, 6-4 victory on court two against Altur.
Fatu fell on court six to give UNA their first point of the day. Dominguez beat Fatu 7-6 (7-3), 6-2. UNA's other point of the day came when Dahiya fell 6-0, 7-6 (7-1), 10-7 on court three to Orgiles.
On court four,
Marko Milosavljevic won in straight-sets with a fist set 6-4 final and a 6-3 second set win against Despoja. Penman won in three sets on court one against Brain. Brain won the first set 6-3, but Penman responded with a 6-1 win in the second. Penman then took the third set 6-3 and close out the match for State.
Next up, Jax State hosts Georgia State on Sunday, March 15, for a 12 p.m. first-serve. Prior to the match, Jax State will honor its seniors as it is senior day at the Jax State Tennis Courts.
