Jax State Heads to CUSA Bowling Championship as Top Seed

DALLAS—The No. 1 team in the National Tenpin Coaches Association Top 25 will be the top seed in the 2026 Conference USA Bowling Championship. The league released the bracket for the championship which starts tomorrow at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, La. this afternoon.
 
Jax State is 93-9 on the season and has won their last 25 matches. They will take on 12th-seeded Valparaiso on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the first round of the double elimination tournament.
 
With a win, the Gamecocks would receive a bye to the quarterfinal round on Friday at 9 a.m. The semifinal takes place on Saturday at 9 a.m. and Sunday's championship round begins at 8:30 a.m.
 
In their two previous trips to the conference championship, Jax State has a first-place and a second-place finish, taking runner-up honors in 2025.
 
This year's field features the top seven teams in the current NTCA Poll as the top seven seeds in the tournament. Wichita State is the defending champion and is the No. 6 seed in this year's tournament and will face defending national champion Youngstown State in the first round.
 
All four of last year's Final Four are members of Conference USA this season .
