JACKSONVILLE – Jax State men's tennis has been ranked No. 72 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings.
The Gamecocks are 13-2 this season and have received their highest ever ITA Ranking as a team. Previously, Jax State was ranked as the 100
th-best team in the nation by the ITA on Feb. 20, 2018.
The Gamecocks are an undefeated 6-0 at home, 6-2 on the road, and 1-0 in neutral site matches. The only two losses Jax State has suffered this season came at No. 52 ranked Georgia Tech by a score of 4-3 and at No. 47 ranked Florida State by a score of 4-0.
Jax State is 56-17 in singles this season. They are led by
David Krasner who has a team-best 12-1 record in singles action.
Timo De Visser is 9-1,
Alin Fatu is 8-1, and
Aman Dahiya is 9-5, respectively.
Charlie Penman, who typically plays in the No. 1 slot, is 6-5 this season.
Zach Murphy is 3-1,
Lucius Soller is 2-0, and
Matei Palcau is 1-2 on the year.
Meanwhile in doubles, Jax State is 24-11 thus far. Soller leads the way with a 9-3 doubles mark and Krasner follows closely at 8-3. Fatu is 7-2 on the year, Penman is 6-2, Murphy and Milosavljevic are both 4-2, Palcau is 2-0, and De Visser and Penman are 4-4.
Other teams in Conference USA that have cracked the ITA Top 75 include Middle Tennessee at No. 43, Liberty at No. 68, and Kennesaw State at No. 73.
