RICHMOND, Ky. – Jax State men's tennis continued their impressive 2026 Spring campaign with a 4-2 win on the road against Eastern Kentucky. With the win, the Gamecocks improved to 8-2 on the season.
Jax State opened the match with a doubles point win. The doubles team of
David Krasner and
Marko Milosavljevic kicked the day off with a 6-1 victory over EKU's Joao Barreto and Ilie Cazac on doubles court two.
Charlie Penman and Lucius then clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win on court three over Fernando Bulnes and Adrian Contreras.
On doubles court one, Jax State's
Aman Dahiya and
Timo De Visser were leading Marke Nano and Nuno Pinheiro 5-4, but their match went unfinished as the Gamecocks took the doubles point.
In singles play, Penman kept the winning ways rolling for the Gamecocks on court one with a 6-3, 6-0 straight-set triumph over Pinheiro. Krasner was then defeated on court two 6-6 (7-4), 6-2 by Nano to make it 2-1 Gamecocks. Bulnes tied the match 2-2 when he downed Dahiya in three sets on court three. Dahiya lost the first set 6-4 before taking the second set 6-4. Bulnes then won the third set 6-2.
On court four, De Visser lost the first set 6-2 to Cazac before taking the next two sets. De Visser won both the second and third sets by a score of 6-3. With the Gamecocks leading 3-2, Milosavljevic won on court six by back-to-back finals of 6-0 in the first and second sets.
On court five,
Alin Fatu won the first set 7-5 against Barreto. Fatu was trailing 4-3 in the second set when Jax State clinched the match win.
Jax State moves on to play at Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky., on Thursday at 1 p.m.
