Men's Tennis Moves on to CUSA Semifinals

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Jax State's men's tennis squad stayed alive in the 2026 CUSA Men's Tennis Championship Tournament with a 4-0 sweeping of No. 6 New Mexico State.
 
The Gamecocks opened the afternoon by taking a hard-fought doubles point. New Mexico State got the first win in doubles when Laurendi Fischer and Matias Rojas defeated Jax State's Alin Fatu and Charlie Penman 6-2 on court three.
 
On court two, Marko Milosavljevic and Lucius Soller evened things up with a 6-3 triumph over Roko Stipetic and Tobias Wallin. Timo De Visser and David Krasner clinched the doubles win with a 6-4 victory over Holland Snell and Lance Urlaub.
 
Penman kept things rolling for Jax State with the first win of the day in singles play on court one. Penman took the opening set against Stipetic 6-2 then battled for a 7-5 second set win to put the Gamecocks in front 2-0. On court four, Milosavljevic beat Rojas 6-3, 6-2 to make it match point for Jax State.
 
De Visser clinched the quarterfinal win for Jax State on court five. De Visser took the opening set 6-3 against Urlaub then won the second set 6-4. Three courts went unfinished in the 4-0 blanking by the Gamecocks.
 
On court three, Aman Dahiya lost the first set 6-4 to Wallin but was leading 7-6 and about to play a tiebreaker in the second set when the match was abandoned. On court six, Fatu lost the first set 6-4 to Fischer and was trailing 4-3 in the second. Krasner won his opening set 6-2 against Snell on court two, but Snell responded with a 6-2 win in the second to force a third set. In the third, Krasner and Snell were tied 4-4 when the Gamecocks clinched the match.
 
Jax State moves on to the semifinals of the tournament tomorrow. The three-seeded Gamecocks will square off against the two-seeded Liberty Flames at 4 p.m. Saturday in Murfreesboro.
