TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The No. 75 Jax State Men's Tennis team travels to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama in a non-conference matchup Saturday at 5:30 P.M.
Jax State has won their past nine matches and are 16-2 overall, with their most recent wins over South Alabama (4-1) and Alabama State (4-0). Jax State has continued to stay ranked in the top 75 teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association since early March.
In singles, the Gamecocks are led by
David Krasner who has 13 wins to only two losses this season.
Aman Dahiya has the next most wins for the Gamecocks with his 12-5 singles mark, and
Timo De Visser has impressed with an 11-1 record. Other top performers include
Marko Milosavljevic at 8-1,
Alin Fatu at 8-2,
Zach Murphy at 3-1,
Lucius Soller at 2-0, and
Charlie Penman at 7-6.
The Gamecocks are 65-20 in singles this season.
In doubles, Jax State is 30-12 with Soller paving the way with his team-leading 11-4 record. Krasner has been great in doubles this year with a 10-3 record, while Fatu has a 9-2 mark. Penman is 8-2, Milosavljevic is 5-2, Murphy is 4-2,
Matei Palcau is 2-0,
Timo De Visser is 6-4, and Dahiya is 5-5.
The Gamecocks top doubles pairing this season has been Fatu and Penman who boast a team-best 7-2 record together. Other top duos include Krasner/De Visser at 4-0, Soller/Murphy at 4-2, Milosavljevic/Krasner at 4-2, and Dahiya/Soller at 3-1.
The Crimson Tide are currently 10-13 and hold an 8-7 record at home. Alabama is fresh off a 7-0 win against Mississippi Valley State at home on March 29. In singles, Alabama is 83-82 this season as a team. They are led by Matic Kriznik who leads the Gamecocks with a 21-10 record.
In doubles, Alabama is 50-40 overall. The duo of Kriznik/Vit Kalina lead the way with a 12-8 record. Behind them, Andrii Zimnokh/Jacob Olar are 10-6, respectively.
Following the match at Alabama, Jacksonville State travels to Kennesaw State for the regular season finale on Friday, April 10. The match against the Owls is set for a 12 p.m. central (1 p.m. eastern) first-serve.
