Women’s Golf Heads to Pawley’s Island for Regular Season Finale

JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State women's golf team will play its final tournament of the regular season starting Monday at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C. for the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge.
 
Last week at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Georgia, the Gamecocks put together their best 18-hole round of the season with a two-over 290 in the final round which was among the best in the field. The highest score Jax State counted in the third round was a one-over 73 by Julie Kleppe and Ebby Somers. Sophomores Lara El Chaib and Rebbeka Stutley had even-par rounds of 72.
 
Stutley's 54 birdies in 21 rounds leads the team as does her 74.57 average. El Chaib has 45 birdies in 21 rounds with a 74.85 average.
 
The 54-hole tournament begins Monday at 8:35 a.m. Eastern Time off the first hole with the Gamecocks paired with Fairleigh Dickinson, Morehead State, and Marshall. A total of 20 teams will participate in the tournament.
 
Coastal Carolina is the highest ranked team in the field followed by UNC Asheville, Middle Tennessee, Ball State, and Jax State.
 
Caledonia is a consensus Top 100 Public Course by Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, and Golf Channel. It will play 6,082 yards and a Par 71 this week.
