DALLAS, Texas – Jax State baseball players
Steven Cash and
Jaxon Pate were named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, the league announced on Friday afternoon.
Senior southpaw pitcher
Steven Cash earns his second CUSA All-Academic team nod. Cash carries a GPA of 3.95, and just graduated with a degree in Accounting. He owns several academic accomplishments, such as being named to the Presidents List three times (Fall '24, Fall '25, Spring '25), and earning 2024-25 Commissioner's Honor Roll and 2024-25 Commissioner's Academic Medal. This season, Cash set a career-high in strikeouts with 13 on April 19, and has 11 victories across his two seasons at Jax State.
Redshirt freshman
Jaxon Pate earns the first CUSA All-Academic honor of his career by posting a perfect 4.00 GPA this year. On the field this year, Pate has served as the Gamecocks' lead-off man for the majority of the year, posting a .348 batting average, one of the top averages in the league. Pate had 62 base knocks this season, including 12 doubles and the first homer of his career back on May 2 at Mo State.
Both players have helped lead Jax State to its first CUSA baseball title, clinching the outright regular season title and the top seed in the CUSA tournament.
