Jax State's fifth and final tournament of the fall takes place starting Sunday with a 36-hole day at the Furman Intercollegiate at the Furman University Course in Greenville, S.C.
The Gamecocks had a tough weekend last time out at the Moraine Intercollegiate in Ohio finishing 14th in a field where just nine of the 81 players shot even or better.
In the tournaments in between the opener and Moraine, the Gamecocks had some solid showings at the G-Mac Invitational and the Argent Financial Classic. Will Drake was the co-medalist at the G-Mac, helping his team take third and was the team's best finisher last week at Moraine in a tie for 24th.
Drake's 71.5 scoring average leads the team just ahead of Ben Shedd's 71.67. Raphael Turcaud has been one of the most consistent players at 72.42. He posted a 12th-place finish with a -2 total at the Argent Financial Classic right after taking 13th at -1 at the G-Mac.
The Gamecocks will start play on holes 9-12 in Sunday's shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. alongside Georgia State, Samford, and Tennessee Tech. The course will play as a 7,131-yard, Par-71.
