Jax State Softball Promotes Stewart to Assistant Coach

JACKSONVILLE – Jax State softball head coach Julie Boland announced the promotion of Holly Stewart to assistant coach for the Gamecocks on Monday.
Stewart is stepping into her new role after serving as director of player development and assistant of softball operations last season where she helped aid the development of six All-Conference USA selections and a pair of NFCA All-Region Third Team selections as well, in just her first season on staff.
"I couldn't be more excited to promote Holly into this new role as an assistant coach," Boland said. "I've had the unique opportunity to coach her as a player and watch her grow, both on and off the field. She brings an incredible personality, and passion for this program, along with a genuine ability to connect with people."
Prior to joining the Gamecocks' staff in 2025, Stewart served as a player development coach and assistant coach for Central Arkansas for two seasons as well. Before joining the coaching ranks, Stewart was an infielder for Jax State in the 2022 and 2023 seasons where she played under then assistant coach Boland and former head coach Jana McGinnis. In all, Stewart has been with Jax State for four seasons.
"She brings the same competitiveness, loyalty, and love for this program every day that she showed as a player," Boland said. "I'm proud of the person she has become and excited to see the continued impact she makes as a coach."
