2008:
Was the catalyst for the Gamecocks as a junior playing in every game…was a First Team All-OVC selection after leading the league with 418 kills, and average of 3.91 per game, and 4.37 points per game…ranked ninth in the league with 4.05 digs per game…on Sept. 22, became just the second player in league history to be named the OVC’s Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week in the same week after leading the league in kills and digs over the opening weekend of conference play…the honor resulted in her being featured in Sports Illustrated’s Faces In The Crowd in the Oct. 12 Issue…In conference play, averaged a league-best 4.37 kills per game…became the third JSU player to surpass the 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs mark in a career…recorded 22 double-doubles, including the final 13 matches…had double-digit digs in all but two matches and double-digit kills in all but six…picked up a season-high 28 digs against Tennessee State on Sept. 19, while recording a season-best 27 kills against Tennessee Tech on Sept. 23…recorded 20 or more kills four times and had at least 20 digs in five matches.

2007:
Appeared in all 28 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore…a versatile threat for JSU, finished the season third on the team with 295 kills and an average of 2.76 kills per game, while also finishing third on the team in digs with 409, an average of 3.82 per game…led the Gamecocks in service aces with 36…amassed 205 of her kills, 288 of her digs and 27 of her service aces in Ohio Valley Conference play…recorded double digit kills 15 times, including a season-high 21 on Nov. 2 at Southeast Missouri…SEMO match was part of a stretch of five consecutive double-digit kills efforts to close the regular season…recorded 14 double-doubles, thanks to 25 matches with 10 or more digs and five with 20 or more…picked up 24 digs twice, in back-to-back matches at Tennessee Tech on Oct. 27 and at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 2…hit a season-high .389 with 18 kills in a win over Albany on Sept. 9…had a season-high four aces at Murray State on Sept. 15.

2006: Made a big splash with the Gamecocks and in the Ohio Valley Conference as a true freshman, appearing in all 98 games for JSU… was voted the league’s Freshman of the Year and was an All-Newcomer and Second-Team All-OVC selection by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors after finishing second on the team with 312 kills, 3.18 per game, and 336 digs, 3.43 per game…hit .202 on the year, thanks to a .243 percentage in league play with an average of 3.63 kills per game…had 180 of her 336 digs in league play for an average of 3.67 digs per game against the OVC…made her presence known immediately, picking up a season high 22 kills to go along with 15 digs in her collegiate debut, a season-opening win at No. 12 Louisville…tallied 10 or more kills in a match 17 times and had double digits in the digs column 21 times…recorded 13 double-doubles on the year, second most on the team…picked up a season-best 23 digs against Saint Louis on Sept. 15, and had 19 digs twice…had perhaps her most solid match against Jacksonville on Aug. 26, when she had 18 kills on 37 attempts (.405) to go along with 14 digs…had a season-high four blocks in the season opener at Louisville.

Prep: Played four seasons for head coach Mary Cox at Boonville High School in Boonville, Ind….an All-America selection by PrepVolleyball.com as a senior…a three-time first-team all-state selection and was named the team MVP after each her sophomore, junior and senior seasons…led BHS to IHSAA 3A state runner-up finishes in her junior and senior seasons…a four-time first-team all-conference player…a three-time recipient of the BHS Digs Award and two-time Kills Award honoree…invited to the USA Volleyball Developmental Camp at Baylor University, where she earned outstanding athlete honors…invited to the USA High Performance Camp as a freshman…also an all-conference basketball player at BHS.

Personal: Born on May 2, 1988, in Princeton, Ind….the daughter of Michael and Karen Whitten…has a younger brother, Kyle…her father, Michael, played baseball at Oakland City College…was an honor student at BHS and a member of the National Honor Society…majoring in English at JSU.
