Biography

JSU CAREER: 2020: Started the season living up to the 2020 Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference accolades with a .313 batting average…saw action in all 15 games either behind the plate or in the designated hitters spot in the order…recorded 20 hits in 64 plate appearances and reached base 28 times with eight walks…delivered four home runs and a pair of doubles…drove in 13 runs and scored seven times…threw out 9-of-the-20 base runners on steal attempts…earned the catchers spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team after a solid year in the classroom (3.65 GPA)…named to the 2020 OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.  

2019: Made an immediate impact with the Gamecocks as he platooned with Nic Gaddis behind the plate…saw action in 61 games…started 36 games at catcher and in the designated hitters spot 22 times…finished the season with a .304 batting average after a stellar finish to the season…ranked second on the team in hits with 75, including 31 extra base hits…turned in a team-best 21 doubles and nine home runs…also had a triple…collected 21 multi-hit games and 14 multi-RBI contests, which led the club…one of six Gamecocks to earn All-Ohio Valley Conference honors as a member of the league’s first team as a designated hitter…was named to the All-OVC Tournament Team after posting a .429 clip at the plate, including three doubles and five RBI in JSU’s three games in Marion, Illinois…completed the regular season with six RBI on four hits in the regular season finale at Austin Peay on May 18…belted a pair of home runs in the contest...recorded three doubles against Belmont on April 12.

PRIOR TO JSU: Came to Jacksonville State after a season at Chipola Junior College in Mariana, Florida…started his collegiate career at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama…helped lead the Indians of CJC to the 2018 NJCAA National Championship in June of 2018…Chipola topped Walters State Community College to claimed its second consecutive national title…played in 49 games as a sophomore and played catcher and first base…hit .272 on the junior college level and delivered 36 RBI and scored 27 runs…finished with 46 hits, including 13 extra base hits…caught nine base stealers on the base paths…sat out the 2016 season as a redshirt and played in 31 games for the Crimson Tide as a redshirt freshman…was primarily a catcher at UA with the ability to play first base….made 14 starts during his time with the Tide and batted .328 (21-64) with five doubles, two home runs, nine RBI, seven runs scored and three walks by season's end…in SEC play, he maintained a .314 (16-51) average that included all five of his doubles, one home run, five RBI and four runs scored in 19 games of action (12 starts).  

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Columbia Central High School in Columbia, Tennessee… had a prolific prep career in the state of Tennessee as he was rated Perfect Game USA's top-ranked catcher from the state of Tennessee…named to PG USA's 2014 Underclass Second Team and was named Underclass Honorable Mention the year prior…led CCHS in home runs as a senior with 13 and claimed all-state honors during his junior and senior seasons…also earned All-District 8-AAA honors during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, earning District MVP in his final year.
