JSU CAREER: 2020: Named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s Preseason Stopper of the Year Watch List…made seven appearances on the mound out of the bullpen…picked up a win against Eastern Illinois (March 7) after tossing three innings and recording two strikeouts…finished with 17.0 innings pitched on the season and am earned run average of 1.06…allowed two earned runs and three runs on the season…collected 10 strikeouts on the season with multiple strikeouts in four outings…notched a save against UAB (Feb. 19).
2019: Ranked second on the team in appearances with 26 as a junior, tossing 43.2 innings…became one of JSU’s top arms out of the bullpen with 23 strikeouts and issuing 11 walks…posted a 7-0 record and an earned run average of 2.27…finished with a pair of saves including a save in JSU’s Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship contest against Morehead State after closing out the final 1.2 innings…earned his first career save versus Eastern Illinois on March 10 after completing the final four frames…the four innings against EIU was also a career high for innings worked.
2018: Saw action in 20 games out of the bullpen for JSU in 2018…collected 28.0 innings of work on the season…finished with 18 strikeouts and issued nine walks…pitched a season high 2.2 innings on two occasions, including the season opener against Southern Illinois on February 16…tossed 2.2 innings against Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Kentucky…had two strikeouts in four outings against OVC competition.
2017: Made 17 appearances out of the bullpen as a true freshman for JSU … finished the season with a 1-1 record, 6.93 earned run average, 20 strikeouts, five walks, 19 earned runs, 35 hits in 24.2 innings pitched … pitched 9.1 innings in seven relief appearances against OVC opponents … converted all nine fielding opportunities without an error … had five scoreless pitching performances.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama…played for Richie Brooks at BRHS…was a member of the Wildcat baseball program for six years…played with Sean Rape at BRHS…the duo helped BRHS to a 28-9 record in 2016…posted a 10-2 mark on the mound as a senior…accumulated over 70 innings of work with a 2.53 earned run average and tallied 52 strikeouts…helped lead BRHS to the second round of the AHSAA Class 6A state playoffs…a two-time selection to the Alex City Outlook’s All-Outlook Baseball Team in 2015 and 2016…posted a 5-2 record with an ERA of 1.76 and 55 strikeouts…selected by the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association as a representative of the 2015 North-South Alabama High School Coaches All-Star team…active in the travel ball system with the Triton Rays and ACES…member of the ACES squad from 2006-2012 and played for the Triton Rays from 2014-2016…coached by Chad Woods with ACES and Tyler Carson of the Triton club…helped Triton to a runner up spot at the 2016 WWBA National Championship.
