Axelgaard, one of Denmark’s top U23 middle-distance runners, is an 8-time Danish Youth Championship medalist (800 meter, 1500 meter, 3,00 meter, 2,00 meter steeplechase) and represented the national team in the 800m at the 2023 U20 Nordic Championship placing 8th. Axelgaard also placed 4th at the Danish Senior Championships (800 meter) and 4th in the 10k at the U23 Danish Championships.
