JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State (11-1) won its fourth straight dual match with a 6-1 win over the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on Wednesday at the JSU Tennis Courts.
Steffen Solomon and Chris Duke downed William John and Jacob Wright, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles to decide the doubles point and give JSU a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. Eduardo Sarratt and Scott Robertson defeated Andrey Bubnov and Yaroslav Litus, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles.
The Gamecocks sealed the win with five singles wins. Saratt defeated Bubnov at No. 2 and Bachino defeated Kumereli in three sets at No 3. Holz downed John at No. 4 and Duke won in straight sets over Litus at No. 5. Solomon upended Taylor Befus at No. 6 to round out the singles competition.
Jacksonville State hosts Murray State in Ohio Valley Conference action at the JSU Tennis Courts on Friday at 1 p.m.
