Gamecock Tennis Earns 6-1 Win Over The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Jacksonville State (12-1) captured the doubles point and won five singles matches en route to a 6-1 win over The Citadel (6-5) on Tuesday at the Earle Tennis Center.
Scott Robertson and Eduardo Saratt defeated Yufo Sutantio and Michael Kociecki, 9-8, at No. 1 doubles while Chris Duke and Steffen Solomon defeated Martin King and Josh Cook, 8-4, to give JSU a 1-0 edge heading into singles play.
Robertson downed Sutantio, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 1 and Saratt won 6-3, 6-3 over Michael Kociecki at No. 2. Bernardo Bachino upended Alberto Diaz, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 3 while Duke won 6-0, 6-1 over Derek Dickey at No. 4. Solomon finished off the win with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Frederick Petrilli.
Jacksonville State hosts Eastern Illinois at the JSU Tennis Courts on Wed., March 25 at 1 p.m.
