With the game tied at 12-12, Sharrock led off the ninth inning with a triple down the right field corner. Following international walks to Sam Eberle and Ben Waldrip, Erik Underwood had a single to right field to score Sharrock and give the Gamecocks their sixth final at-bat win of the season.
UTM (5-18, 1-2) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the third inning and then scored five more runs in the fifth inning to build a 10-0 advantage as the Skyhawks had limited the Gamecocks to just two hits until the fifth frame.

The Skyhawks added a run in the sixth and seventh to build a 12-8 lead, before the Gamecocks rallied in the seventh inning to tie the game.
