DICKSON, Tenn. – Tom Robson and Tomasz Anderson both tied for fourth place to lead Jacksonville State to a one-shot win over Austin Peay in the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship as the Gamecocks won their second straight title.
 
Jacksonville State finished with a 54-hole total score of 861 to edge past Austin Peay's total of 862 as the Gamecocks claimed their fourth OVC Championship.  Murray State finished in third place five shots back with an 866, followed by Eastern Kentucky (871), UT Martin (874), Eastern Illinois (887), Morehead State (889), Tennessee Tech (910) and Tennessee State rounds out the field with a 911.
 
Anderson, who was named the OVC Freshman of the Year on Thursday, shot the low round of the day with a 5-under par 67 with six birdies, 11 pars and one bogey to shoot 35-32. He finished with a 54-hole total 214 to tie for fourth place.
 
Robson shot a final round 39-35-74 to post a three-day total of 214 to tie with Anderson for fourth place. Robson finished with three birdies, 10 pars and five bogeys on Saturday to earn All-Tournament honors with Anderson.
 
Alfonso Otoya shot his second straight 73 to finish with a 2-over 218 to tie for 13th place, while Andres Schonbaum shot a 220 to finish in 20th place. Dylan Shepard finished his first OVC Tournament with a 226 to tie for 29th place.
 
JSU head coach James Hobbs was named the OVC Coach of the Year and Jax State's one-shot win is the sixth time in OVC Tournament History the championship was decided by one shot and the first time since Austin Peay edged Murray State in 2009.
 
With the victory, Jacksonville State earned the OVC's automatic bid into the NCAA Championship. The 2012 field will be announced on Monday, May 7 at 8 p.m. CT on NCAA.com. The NCAA Regionals will take place May 17-19 and be held at six sites – Greensboro, N.C., Athens, Ga., Ann Arbor, Mich., Bowling Green, Ky., Norman, Okla. and Stanford, Calif. The National Championship will be held May 29 - June 3 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
