BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Junior Andres Schonbaum fired a one-under 71 in the final round of the NCAA South Central Regional on Saturday, leading the Jacksonville State men's golf team to a 12th-place finish and its best score of the three-day event at The Club at Olde Stone.

Schonbaum, a native of Cordoba, Argentina, gave JSU its lone round under par of the 54-hole regional on the par-72, 7,248-yard layout. Teeing off on No. 10, he was even at the turn and played the front nine at one under. He used back-to-back birdies on Holes No. 7 and 8 to lead JSU to an eight-over 296, nine shots better than the Gamecocks' previous low round of the 14-team tournament.

Schonbaum finished with a 54-hole total of 223 and tied for 30th in the 75-player field, one that was won by Chattanooga's Stehan Jaeger. The Mocs top player and the No. 14 player in the nation shot a 13-under 203, thanks to a final-round 66. He led UTC to the team title, one shot better than Texas A&M and four better than No. 3 UCLA. No. 46 Virginia Tech and No. 39 Memphis rounded out the top five, all of which advance to the NCAA Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif., in two weeks.

Senior Tom Robson carded his best round of the week with a final-round 72. The Portsmouth, England, native played his final nine holes as a Gamecock at two under. In fact, after bogeys on his third and fourth holes of the day, Robson made 12 pars and two birdies the rest of the way to finish in a tie for 46th with a total score of 227. He birdied his final collegiate hole, the 453-yard par-four ninth hole.

Fellow senior Alfonso Otoya was one shot behind him at 228, putting him in a tie for 52nd. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native turned in his second 75 in as many days to wrap up his JSU career.

Freshmen Tomasz Anderson and Dylan Shephard rounded out the JSU lineup, with Anderson shooting a 78 to finish 63rd and Shephard finishing 72nd after a final-round 84. Both players birdied the final hole, with Shephard playing the last five holes at two under.
