JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's basketball team will host Eastern Kentucky on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Pete Mathews Coliseum in an Ohio Valley Conference game that will be televised live on Fox Sports South. Tickets for the game are just $1.

The Gamecocks return home to Pete Mathews Coliseum after a three-game road swing that ended on Thursday with a 66-60 loss at first-place Tennessee State in Nashville. They welcome an Eastern Kentucky team that is off to a hot start but suffered its first loss in conference play at Belmont on Thursday.

JSU dropped a hard-fought game at TSU, one that saw the Gamecocks overcome an 11-point deficit in the second half before falling at the end. JSU trailed 33-22 at the half before blistering the nets to the tune of a .652 shooting percentage in the final 20 minutes before falling in the final seconds.

Senior Ronnie Boggs led JSU with 17 points, while fellow senior Tarvin Gaines pitched in 14. Gaines had 11 of his points total in the second half, while Boggs scored 11 of his in the final 20 minutes. It was JSU's second game without leading scorer Darion Rackley, who suffered a hand injury in a Jan. 11 practice.

The Colonels trailed by as many as 17 at Belmont on Thursday before battling back to take a two-point lead with just under seven minutes to play. The Bruins would pull away in the final minutes and hold on for the 83-76 win. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for EKU, who is posting an OVC-best +6.1 turnover margin. The Colonels are forcing 18.4 turnovers per game but are committing just over 12 themselves.

Mike DiNunno and Glenn Cosey lead EKU in scoring with 15.0 points per game, apiece. Corey Walden is the only other Colonel in double figures with 10.4 points per contest.
