JSU Baseball Earns No. 4 Seed in OVC Championship

Jacksonville State will be the No. 4 seed and face No. 5 Eastern Kentucky in the first game of the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship next Wednesday at 3 p.m. at The Ballpark in Jackson, Tenn.
Jacksonville State finished the regular season with a 32-24 overall mark and tied for third in the OVC with Belmont with a 22-8 conference record, but Belmont will be the No. 3 seed due to winning the regular-season series between the two teams.
Tennessee Tech is the No. 1 seed after winning the regular-season crown, while Austin Peay will be the No. 2 seed, followed by Belmont, Jax State, Eastern Kentucky and Southeast Missouri enters as the No. 6 seed.
Jacksonville State is making its 10th straight appearance in the OVC Championship, making the six-team field every since joining the league in 2004. The Gamecocks have three OVC Tournament Championships, winning the OVC Tournament title in 2004, 2006 and 2010.
