BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Jacksonville State junior Tomasz Anderson has been named the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Golfer of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Anderson, a native of Hertfordshire, England, claimed a 10th-place finish in the GolfWeek Conference Challenge earlier in the week, a tournament that featured six of the top 50 teams in the country. Anderson shot a 54-hole 215 to finish the event at 1-under par.

Anderson entered the tournament on the 7,301-yard Spirit Hollow Golf Course ranked in the top 100 in the GolfStat rankings and is currently ranked 50th in the World Amatuer Golf Rankings. The honor is the eighth OVC Weekly honor for Anderson, who won it a league-best six times a year ago and once as a freshman in 2011-12.

He opened the GolfWeek Conference Challenge with a 1-over 73 before answering with an even-par round of 72 on Monday. In Tuesday's final round, he carded a 2-under 70 that propelled him into the top 10. It is his second Top-10 finish in as many events this season, which has seen him post a 71.5 stroke average in six rounds.

Anderson and the Gamecocks return to the links on Oct. 7-8 at the N.C. State WolfPack Intercollegiate on the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
