In the men's contest, JSU cruised to its first OVC road victory as it claimed the pivotal doubles point to take the early advantage.  The top Gamecock duo of Pedro Wagner and Jaryd Reese topped SIUE's Stephen Washuta and Nico Kuehn, 8-5.  After SIUE equalized in doubles with a win at No. 2, Jax State's tandem of Jefferson Wendler-Filho and Felipe Wenzel edged SIUE's duo of Jacob Tanulanond/Nicolas Vincent, 8-7(8).

Reese, a freshman from Kennesaw, Ga., needed little time to dispose of SIUE's Hutchinson at No. 2 – 6-0, 6-1.  Wendler-Filho improved to 3-0 in the OVC at No. 4 with a straight sets win over Jacob Perkins – 6-4, 6-4.  Freshman Dylan Gee won his second consecutive conference singles match with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Kuehn.

In the women's match, it came down a third set at No. 5 as SIUE's Haley Ilcewicz bounced back after falling to JSU's Danielle Kerindi in the first set, 6-1.  She recovered to win 6-3, 6-4 to claim the match and clinch the match for the Cougars.  After SIUE claimed the doubles point, the host took a 2-0 lead after a win at No. 2 singles.  Mia Frogner downed JSU's Claudia Marsala 6-1, 6-3.

The Gamecocks first point came at No. 6 after Isidora Knezevic registered a 6-2, 6-3 win over SIUE's Sierra Halverson.  Senior Raisa Guasti picked up a win at No. 1 after turning back Monique Krutak, 6-4, 7-6.  Junior Zoe Bizinos won in three sets over Kali Donner.  After winning the first set, 7-6, Bizinos fell 6-0 in the second set to force a third-and-deciding set.  She edged Donner, 7-5 to notch the win.
