NASHVILLE -- The Jacksonville State men's basketball team continues its road trip to Nashville, Tenn., Saturday night with a 7:30 p.m. matchup with Tennessee State.
The Gamecocks (12-9, 4-2 OVC) are coming off a tough loss Thursday at Belmont. The Bruins remained in first place and improved to 6-0 in the Ohio Valley with a 77-60 victory over JSU. Junior Norbertas Giga and freshman Ashton Spears each posted 10 points despite the loss, while rebounding leader Christian Cunningham snagged 12 boards against the league's top-RPI team.
Tennessee State (12-7, 3-3 OVC) fell 80-74 Thursday night in overtime to Tennessee Tech at the Gentry Center. The Tigers were off to a 6-0 clip to begin the season and began their OVC slate with a 3-1 record, but have since dropped contests to the Golden Eagles and Morehead State.
