SEMO Visits Jacksonville State Wednesday
1/31/2017 5:36:00 PM | Men's Basketball
JACKSONVILLE -- The Jacksonville State men's basketball team welcomes Ohio Valley Conference foe Southeastern Missouri to Pete Mathews Coliseum at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest wraps up a three-game homestand before the Gamecocks open their final home series of the season in just over a week.
The men's basketball team (13-11, 5-4 OVC) is looking to bounce back from a couple of tough home losses it has suffered over the last few days. The Gamecocks fell to Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State last week, but can remain in second place in the OVC East with a win over the OVC West's SEMO. JSU has not lost three games in a row this season in which a Power Five school was not involved.
Southeast Missouri (11-13, 6-3 OVC) enters the matchup in a tie for first place in the western division with Murray State. The Redhawks are enjoying a four-game winning streak that includes victories over Austin Peay and Murray. Their three OVC losses have come at the hands of UT Martin, Belmont and Tennessee State.
