
Mercer Tops Gamecocks in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Mercer Thursday afternoon at the JSU Tennis Courts. Diana Monsalve earned the Gamecocks' lone point, picking up a victory in the No. 2 slot.
Injuries continue to plague the young Jacksonville State squad, automatically putting the Gamecocks down 1-0 in doubles sets and 2-0 in overall points with the absence of two starters.
The freshman duo of Malin Buechner and Alba Conejero forced a playoff in the No. 2 doubles spot, while Buechner lost a narrow 6-3, 7-5 match in the No. 4 contest.
