The Gamecocks (16-7, 7-3 OVC) square off against Eastern Illinois (7-14, 3-7 OVC) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night at Lantz Arena. JSU looks to even the all-time series at 10-10 following a victory in Charleston just last season.
The Gamecocks have had at least one player score 20 points in their last six consecutive games. Malcolm Drumwright scored 20 against Murray State on Jan. 11, Austin Peay on Jan. 13, EKU on Jan. 13 and UT Martin on Jan. 25, and Jason Burnell posted 20 points at Morehead State on Jan. 20. Marlon Hunter kept the streak alive Jan. 27 with a career-high 22 points against Southeast Missouri.
Drumwright currently sits third among Jacksonville State's all-time Division I scoring leaders with 1,283 career points scored. He became the 24th Gamecock to join the 1,000 Point Club earlier this season and is just 58 points behind the last Gamecock to score 1,000 points in a career, Darion Rackley.
Christian Cunningham recorded his team-leading sixth double-double of the season Jan. 27 with 10 points and 15 rebounds against Southeast Missouri at Pete Mathews Coliseum. He now has 13 career double-doubles, the most of any active Gamecock. Norbertas Giga follows with five this season and 11 in his career.

JSU has made it a habit of breaking the mold so far this season. Through 10 conference games, Jax State is 7-3, matching its best start in league play since joining the OVC in 2004. The EIU/JSU series began in 2004, since then, the Panthers hold a 13-7 advantage through 20 meetings.
Junior Rayven Peason leads the Gamecocks' scoring, averaging 8.9 points per game in what has become a balanced offensive attack. Senior Tyler Phelion has improved to a team-best 9.7 since beginning conference play. Still, plenty of youth contribute as the last five games have featured either a freshman or sophomore as the team's leading scorer in Taylor Hawks, Kiana Johnson and Morgan Towells.
