JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State volleyball team continues Ohio Valley Conference action this weekend, beginning with a Thursday night matchup with Eastern Kentucky.
Â
The Gamecocks (7-7, 1-1 OVC) host EKU at 6 p.m. Thursday inside Pete Mathews Coliseum. JSU will be looking to bounce back from a 3-1 setback to UT Martin last Saturday in the team's first conference loss of the season. To wrap up the weekend, JSU will return to The Pete for a Sunday matinee contest with league-leader Morehead State at noon.
Â
Following a 1-1 mark in the first weekend of conference play, JSU saw a pair of Gamecocks honored by the league as setter Lexie Libs picked up her third OVC Setter of the Week award, while sophomore Lena Kindermann claimed her first career OVC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Â
Kindermann hit over .400 in the first two OVC matches, and continues to lead the league by carrying a .350 hitting percentage into the month of October. She's been a key target for Libs, who also has senior Kaylee Frear along with Kaylie Milton and Sadie Anderson to distribute the offense around.
Â
Thursday night's match will stream on ESPN+ with live stats available at JSUGamecockSports.com. Admission is free to all JSU home volleyball matches.
