
JSU Hoops: Jacksonville State at Tennessee on Saturday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Jacksonville State men's basketball team competes in its final game before the Christmas holiday Saturday at noon against the University of Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Fans can also listen to "The Voice" of the Gamecocks, Mike Parris, on the Gamecock Radio Network and online. Parris is entering his 37th season on the mic for Jacksonville State basketball.
Jacksonville State returns to action at Pete Mathews Coliseum on Saturday, Dec. 28 to take on Carver College. The final non-conference game of the season tips off at 4 p.m.

- Jacksonville State pieced together back-to-back wins for the first time this season Wednesday with a 92-80 win over Delaware State. It accompanied an 85-59 victory over Evansville on Monday.
- Tennessee is the sixth first-time opponent to face the Gamecocks this season, joining the list with SMU, Brescia, VCU, Purdue and George Mason.
- For the first time in program history, Jacksonville State will play all three University of Tennessee System schools that field athletics in the same season (Chattanooga, Tennessee and UT Martin).
- No. 21 Tennessee is the first ranked opponent to face the Gamecocks since meeting No. 9/10 Louisville on March 17, 2017 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis, Ind. Jacksonville State is 0-5 all-time against ranked teams.
- Head coach Ray Harper became the fastest Gamecock coach to reach 70 Division I wins in the victory over Evansville. Harper achieved the feat in just 114 games. It was career-win No. 501 for the fourth-year JSU coach.
