Burnell gets 12th double-double
Senior forward Jason Burnell recorded his team-leading 12th double-double of the season Feb. 14 during JSU's 67-57 win at Tennessee Tech. The DeLand, Fla., native totaled 21 points and 12 rebounds against the Golden Eagles. He ranks 17th in the nation in the category. He owns 15 career double-doubles as a Gamecock.
Five consecutive wins over Tennessee Tech
With its 67-57 win over Tennessee Tech on Feb. 14, Jacksonville State has won five consecutive games over the Golden Eagles. JSU has not lost a game to TTU since Feb. 13, 2016. It is the second-longest winning streak over a conference opponent behind the Gamecocks' six stright wins over Southeast Missouri.
Hunter pockets first double-double
Senior guard Marlon Hunter scored his first career double-double Feb. 9 at Southeast Missouri with 27 points and 12 rebounds during the 81-64 win over the Redhawks. Both numbers were career-bests for the Panama City, Fla., native. His previous high in points scored was 26 at West Virginia on Dec. 22, and his previous high in rebounds was seven.
