Tipoff Tidbits
• Senior forward Jacara Cross scored a career-high 25 points on Feb. 1 against Belmont. He had previously scored 20 points three times this season before getting over the hump. He was 9-for-10 from the field and hit seven on 10 free-throw attempts against the Bruins.
• The Gamecocks are visiting Cape Girardeau, Mo., in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 2010- 11 and 2011-12 seasons. JSU and the Redhawks split those two decisions at the Show Me Center.
• JSU is on a five-game winning streak against SEMO. It is the Gamecocks' second-longest winning streak over an OVC opponent behind the Morehead State series. Jacksonville State has beaten the Eagles six games in a row.
• Jax State hasn't lost a game to Southeast Missouri since Jan. 14, 2015, a 69-52 home loss to the Redhawks.
• Jacksonville State recently added Georgia transfer Amanze Ngumezi. The 6-foot-9 forward played seven games with the Bulldogs as a sophomore before transferring to JSU. He will be eligible for competition for the 2020-21 season.
