JSU welcomes Little Rock for Saturday matinee at The Pete - Jacksonville State University Athletics

JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State hosts Little Rock on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. inside Pete Mathews Coliseum with the Gamecocks looking to improve their home winning streak against the Trojans.

Jax State (5-5) welcomes the Sun Belt Conference Trojans (3-7) to Jacksonville after making the trip to the Diamond State and the Jack Stephens Center last December. There, JSU's Demaree King had a breakout game as a junior scoring a career-high 32 points while helping the Gamecocks to an 87-67 victory. Saturday's contest marks the third all-time meeting between the two teams, and the first at The Pete. The first meeting came in 2013 with LR getting the neutral site win in the British Virgin Islands.

King (14.6 PPG) and senior Skyelar Potter (15.2 PPG) continue to pace the Gamecock offense. The duo both scored more than 20 points in Wednesday's win over Reinhardt, signaling the first time that has happened for JSU this season. On the inside, Juwan Perdue (7.4 PPG) leads the squad in rebound with 7.7 boards per game. Perdue is one of seven Gamecocks averaging at least seven points per game, including sophomore DJ Gordon who made his JSU debut Wednesday night with nine points.

Behind King, Potter and newcomers Clarence "Monzy" Jackson and Travis Roberts, the Gamecocks shoot 43-percent from beyond the arc to rank second nationally in that category.

Saturday's game streams on ESPN+, with live stats available at JSUGamecockSports.com. Mike Parris will call all the action over the Gamecock Sports Network.
