BIRMINGHAM – Jacksonville State and UAB attempted to get the midweek baseball contest between the two programs in before more rain entered the Birmingham area, but after playing three innings, the game was canceled.

With weather in the area and UAB's travel plans for its Conference USA weekend at Rice, game officials made the decision to cancel the game. The Gamecocks and Blazers were tied at 3-3 when the tarp was summoned. The game will not be rescheduled. UAB will visit Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium on Tuesday, May 3.

The Gamecocks will now turn their attention to ASUN action with a trip to Nashville, Tennessee this weekend against Lipscomb. The series opens on Friday, March 18 at 6 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. Saturday outing. The series concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m.
