JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State University women's tennis team dropped to 1-1 in the ASUN following a 5-2 loss to Central Arkansas on Monday in Jacksonville, Ala.
 
JSU is 5-8 overall and 4-3 at home after the first conference loss of the year. Central Arkansas moves to 9-6 overall and 2-0 in the ASUN.
 
The Sugar Bears opened the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles match went unfinished as Romane Mosse and Kennedi Jones led 4-3.
 
To begin singles, JSU fell behind 3-0 with a loss at on the No. 6 and No. 1 courts. Dariana Prato quickly added a point for JSU with her 6-3, 6-2 win in the third flight. Anna Syrova added the only other point for the Gamecocks in the second flight with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, come-from-behind win. Central Arkansas won four out of six singles matches to win 5-2.
 
JSU continues ASUN conference play on Mar. 25, at Liberty.
