JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville State University women's tennis team fell to Troy, 4-1, Friday afternoon on the JSU Tennis Courts.

Troy (5-6) earned a sweep in doubles to take the opening point from JSU (4-6).

In singles play, the Gamecocks opened with a first-set victory in three-of-six singles matches. Troy responded with come-from-behind wins in the fifth and six flight and a sweep in the fourth flight to reach four points. After the Gamecocks fell behind 3-0 with losses in No. 4 and No. 5 singles, Romane Mosse earned her sixth win of the season by defeating Anastasiia Khokhlova 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 in come-from-behind fashion at No. 1 singles. Mosse, a freshman from Viroflay, France, is 4-0 on the year in the first flight. Troy clinched the match, 4-1, with a win at No. 6 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. Anna Syrova's match at No 2 singles was left unfinished, 6-3, 2-6, 3-4 while Dariana Prato's match at No. 3 singles was also left unfinished, 2-6, 6-4, 3-2.

With the loss JSU falls to 4-6 on the season and 3-2 at home. The Gamecocks will return to action Saturday, Mar. 5, on the road against Samford at 12 p.m. Samford is 5-5 overall on the year and defeated Troy 7-0 last time out.
