JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State welcomes the Ospreys of North Florida to Pete Mathews Coliseum for a 6 p.m. matchup Thursday evening as the Gamecocks continued a three-game home stand.
Â
Jax State (7-10, 0-4 ASUN) remains in search for its first league win of the season, but the opposition doesn't get any easier with UNF (7-9, 2-2 ASUN) back in the building after knocking off JSU 88-76 last February.
Â
The meeting a season ago snapped JSU/s Division I school record 10-game winning streak, as the Ospeys scored a season-high in points for any opponent during the 2021-22 schedule. The Gamecocks are looking to turn the tables this time around in the only regular-season meeting between the two teams.
Â
UNF's Carter Hendricksen and Jose Placer combined for 10 three-pointer and 52 points in last season's meeting, while the Gamecocks roll out an entirely new lineup just as the have all season. Seniors Demaree King and Skyelar Potter are both averaging more than 14 points per game, with Clarence "Monzy" Jackson, Juwan Perdue and Amanze Ngumezi just under eight points each.
Â
Thursday's game is set for 6 p.m. from The Pete and is sponsored by Tri-Green Equipment. The matchup between the Gamecocks and Ospreys streams live on ESPN+, along with radio coverage across the Gamecock Sports Network and live stats available at JSUGamecockSports.com.
Â
Jax State wraps up the brief ASUN home stand on Saturday afternoon hosting Jacksonville for the second meeting of the season.
