Gamecock Men To Wrap Up Fall At White Sands Bahamas

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – The Jacksonville State men's golf team will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule this weekend, when the Gamecocks compete in the White Sands Bahamas NCAA Golf Invitational.

Jax State will be one of nine schools competing in the event, hosted by St. Mary's on the Ocean Course at the Ocean Club on Paradise Island. The par-72 layout will play 7,159 yards in the three-day, 54-hole event.

The Gamecocks will begin the tournament on Friday with an 8 a.m. ET shotgun start. They will be paired with North Texas and North Alabama in the first round.

Senior Erik Jansson will lead Jax State in the event, looking to keep an impressive stretch of play alive. The native of Vasteras, Sweden, has won three consecutive Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors after his last three events and has a streak of 12 consecutive rounds of par or better this fall. His last round over par came at the 2023 NCAA Auburn Regional in May. Jansson holds a 69.0 stroke average so far this fall, tops on the team.

Redshirt junior Gabriel Restrepo will start the tournament in the No. 2 spot for the Gamecocks, ahead of junior Ryley Heath in the No. 3 spot. Senior Isaac MacNaughton will play No. 4 and junior Santiago Bailleres will start things off in the No. 5 spot for head coach Michael Brice.
