Gamecocks Set To Battle West Virginia Tuesday Night

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Jax State travels to West Virginia for the first road test of the 2023-24 season when the Gamecocks and Mountaineers square off Tuesday night.
Tip time is set for 7 p.m. ET/6 CT and will be carried on ESPN+ and the Gamecock Sports Network.
Jax State (1-1) and WVU (1-1) meet for the second time after a narrow 74-72 Mountaineer win back in 2018. That matchup served as Jax State's most recent game against a member of the Big XII Conference. The Gamecocks are 4-15 all-time versus current Big XII members, that includes a 4-10 mark versus Central Florida from the program's early Atlantic Sun Conference days.
After a 23-point performance against Utah Tech on Saturday, Jax State's KyKy Tandy enters the contest as the Gamecocks' leading scorer at 16 points per game. The Gamecocks have used an identical starting five for the opening two games of the season with Tandy lined up alongside junior transfer Quincy Clark and returners Marcellus Brigham Jr., and Mason Nicholson.
The Mountaineers are led by first-year head coach Josh Eilert following the departure of legendary head coach Bob Huggins.
