LOUISVILLE – Jacksonville State's softball team is set to resume ASUN Conference play this weekend with a scheduled three-game series with the Knights of Bellarmine.
 
The second league series for both squads was originally slated to be played Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but with weather in the Louisville area, Friday's game had already beem pushed back earlier in the week. The Gamecocks (16-9, 3-0 ASUN) and Knights (2-23, 0-3 ASUN) are now scheduled for a single game Saturday ar 1 p.m. ET/12 CT, followed by a doubleheader matcher on Sunday set to start at 11 ET/10 CT.
 
After picking up her seventh win of the season on Wednesday night, freshman Jaliyah Holmes leads the Gamecocks pitching contingent with a 2.15 ERA. Sophomores Sarah Currie and Kat Carter round out JSU's deep rotation with the trio combining for 124 strikeouts through 25 games.
 
Along with efficient pitching, a strong offensive performance at the pkare helped guide the Gamecocks to a 3-0 sweep over North Alabama to open conference play a week ago. Jax State will look to continue that momentum led by junior Lindsey Richardson, senior Holly Stewart and freshman Linley Tubbs. The hard-hitting trio have provided 11 of JSU's 16 home runs this season and have been a consistent weapons during the Gamecocks' current five-game winning streak.
