KILLEN, Ala.—Jax State was under par in two of the three rounds of the Martin Fed Invitational held at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club, finishing second behind the hosts.
The Gamecocks were two over as a team in the opening round, then were three under in the second, and finished play on Tuesday at two-under. North Alabama won the tournament at 25 under.
Jax State led the tournament in Par 3 scoring at 3.13 and in total eagles with four.
Gabriel Restrepo had the best placement on the leaderboard at seventh, posting 70 in all three rounds for a six-under 54-hole score. He had one of the eagles on 17 during his opening round.
Ryley Heath was a shot back in 10
th place after posting a three-under 69 to start, followed by an even par round, and a two-under 70 on Tuesday. Heath was nine-under on the Par 5 holes, highlighted by an eagle on his 53
rd hole of the week.
Santiago Bailleres overcame some early struggles after posting a 77 in the opening round with a pair of under-par scores of 71 and 70 to finish.
Devin Speight was 38
th in the field highlighted by an even par round in the second after a 74 to start. The senior also had an eagle in the second round on the 548-yard 17
th. Speight posted a 77 to close out the tournament.
In his collegiate debut,
Ethan Keys was 59
th with rounds of 79, 77, and 76. Keys posted an eagle during Monday's second round on the 504-yard 11
th hole.
Next up for the Gamecocks will be their final fall tournament with a trip to the FAU Golf Invitational at PGA National Resort.
